DataJoe - New Products to Market

Over the last several years, DataJoe has helped several publishers introduce completely new data products to market. Our mission is to help publishers capitalize on significant new revenue opportunities. We have come to the conclusion that delivering new, viable data products is our best option for helping our publisher-partners realize significant data-revenue gains.  Below are some short summaries of measurable successes so far.

COMPLETED PROJECTS
  1. Book of Lists (Richmond BizSense). In 2012, Richmond BizSense, the business journal of Richmond, VA, contracted with DataJoe to produce the region's inaugural Book of Lists product. Every year since then DataJoe has researched and delivered robust and accurate lists year after year, and continues to this day. Richmond BizSense uses a paywall model to use the Book of Lists to leverage paid subscribers. http://richmondbizsense.com/lists/.
  2. Best of Colorado (ColoradoBiz). In 2015, DataJoe helped ColoradoBiz Magazine to launch a brand new data product to market -- a nominations-based "Best of Colorado - Business Choice Awards."  This product was profitable the first year, generating nearly $50K in revenue from print ads and memorabilia. http://www.cobizmag.com/articles/best-of-colorado-2015
  3. Public Records (Richmond BizSense). In 2014, DataJoe provided Richmond BizSense a platform for publishing its public records databases (Bankruptcies, New Business Licenses, etc.) in a searchable, interactive format. This is also used under the same paywall model as Book of Lists. http://richmondbizsense.com/new-business-licenses/.
  4. Best of HHR (Hawaii Home + Remodeling). Honolulu-based Hawaii Home + Remodeling contracted DataJoe to architect and facilitate its inaugural "Best of HHR" nomination project. This project enabled the local population to vote for the most respected service providers in the home remodeling space. http://www.hawaiihomeandremodeling.com/article/cast-your-vote-best-hhr.
  5. People on the Move (BizWest Media). Q4, 2015, DataJoe launched a paid content model for "People on the Move" on behalf of Boulder-based BizWest media.  BizWest media, DataJoe's parent company, approached DataJoe to provide software and systems for transitioning to a seamless paid content model. Purchases have already been made, and BizWest anticipates generating several thousand dollars year one in brand new content revenue. http://bizwest.com/on-the-job.
  6. HonorBiz (Roanoker Magazine, BizWest Media). DataJoe has launched an online memorabilia marketing and fulfillment portal called "HonorBiz." Publishers partner with DataJoe on a revenue share basis. The portal allows publishers to deliver high-quality plaques, banners, and other memorabilia to professionals and companies who have won awards and distinctions, such as Best Doctors, Top Ranked Companies, Best of Business, and more. HonorBiz, as an authorized provider, helps defend publishers against unauthorized plaque providers who target the publisher's award-winners and sell them award-specific memorabilia without permission. http://www.honorbiz.org/bizwest.
